Stone fragments latched In shifting, soggy sand, Whereupon I seem detached From my anthropic band, Afford a spot to listen To the gulls’ good news Until the dry rocks glisten And the waves take my shoes. Were I to remain Despite the moving tides, As they rise I would be slain; Dissent Nature derides. We and the seas move round, To higher bodies bound.
